I have been taking a peek at the best seller lists online. One thing is painfully clear. People enjoy fiction of the type that takes us away from the dreary life we lead and transport us to a world of mystery and wonder. Or romance for those who have never had the experience in their real life.
Hard core rendering of real life and the mysteries of the mundane no longer attract readers. So if you want to do a best seller, skip life.
Well. That is correct in a way. Most of us have a messed up life anyway. Why pay money read about other people with messed up lives.
That brings up a point which I will have to think about. Just what is a story?
